Check the TDLR License
Texas requires a license from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for paid air conditioning work. Ask any HVAC company in Fort Worth for its license number and look it up on the free TDLR license search. A Class B license covers systems up to 25 tons of cooling, which includes almost every house. Class A has no size limit.
Be Careful With New Map Listings
Searching for an HVAC company in Fort Worth on Google Maps turns up a lot of thin listings. When we checked in October 2026, many top results had one to three reviews, a downtown office-tower address, and a name built from the search itself. Those listings often pass calls along. A company that can't give you a TDLR license number isn't one to hire.
